Hydraulics Laboratory

Purpose:

• To demonstrate the use of various flow measuring devices in irrigation channels
• Hands-on-practice for installation of measuring devices and their use
• Applied research related to flow measuring devices

Configuration:

• Storage reservoir of 600 cum capacity
• Constant head tank
• 4 Open Channels, 165 m long and 45 lit/sec capacity
• Parshall Flumes, cut throat flumes, Standing Wave Flumes, Modified Broad crested Weir Replogle flumes (RBC Flumes), V-notch, Free fall weir (Brink depth method)
• Collection tank and pump house for recycling of water.

This Laboratory is available on hire basis as given below:

• Students for demonstration purpose at the rate of Rs. 10 per student for one-hour duration.
